I promise you totally and unequivocally. This'll be the last post for a while in which I inflationary often use the word Paris. But because that doesn't count until next time - back to Paris. It was magnifique! The days were filled with everything that make a woman's heart beat faster: Museums, browsing through tiny boutiques, drinking milk coffee, strolling the streets in full getup, meeting charming Frenchmen who take you to literature lectures, eating warm goat's cheese on a salad flowerbed, flea markets, bars, lying exhausted by the Seine & taking a nap, racing through the streets of Paris by bike and watching french people playing "boule"...
An always recurring annoyance were only the many other tourists that pushed themselves again and again into MY Parisian dream vacation. Really a country nuisance! How does one for God's sake have the idea to run about through the streets in trekking clothes - in the city of fashion? I don't really understand that. And, I must admit, Paris for me is more the postcard idyll than the actual city with its immense problems - but we all need our little escapisms, don't we? What you shouldn't miss doing: the flea market Porte de Vanves (Metrostation Porte de Vanves) is perfect for finding little treasures & the Musée des Arts of the Décoratifs (immediately next to the Louvre), which shows a temporary exhibition of the great couturiers. Never a bad thing to take home to your girlfriends are the beautifully wrapped sweets of Jeff de Bruges. To die for...
