Glücklicherweise gibt es in Mitten der ach so lustigen Teenagerkomödien & ewig gleichen Actionfilmen hin und wieder wahre Perlen des Kinos. "Little Miss Sunshine" ist so ein Film. Er ist zugleich spannend, herzerwärmend, wie auch traurig. Vorallem die symphatischen und problembeladenen Charaktere machen ihn zu einem unvergesslichen Kinoerlebnis. Da wäre die Mutter, die versucht die Familie zusammen zu halten. Ihr Mann, der mit Motivationsseminaren sein Geld verdient. Der mit allen Wassern gewaschene Grossvater, der mit seiner pummeligen Enkelin eine Choreographie für einen Mädchenschönheitswettbewerb ein übt. Sein Enkel, der nicht mehr spricht, bis er seine Pilotenausbildung anfangen kann & seine Familie hasst. Neu in die Familie kommt noch der Bruder der Mutter, der gerade aus der Krankenhaus entlassen wurde- nach einem Suizidversuch. Alle zusammen machen sich dann auf den Weg nach Kalifornien, zum Schönheitswettbewerb. Ach, ich will gar nicht mehr von der Handlung verraten. Nur so viel: der Schluss ist einer der Besten, nach Fight Klub. Anarchie Pur! Der Film ist eine Ode an die Liebe, Toleranz & all die Exzentriker dieser Welt. Wir brauchen mehr davon! Also, selber schauen & geniessen!
Fortunately, in the midst of the oh-so-amusing teenager comedies and the same-old-same action films every now and then there are true pearls of cinema. " Little Miss Sunshine " is one of those films. It is at the same time exciting and upbeat, as well as sad. Above all, likeable and problem-loaded characters make it an unforgettable film experience. For one, there's the mother - she tries to hold together the family. Her husband who earns his money with motivation seminars. The grandfather who's up to every trick practices a choreography for a beauty pageant with his chubby granddaughter. His grandson who won't speak anymore until he can start his pilot's education and who hates his family. Then there's the mother's brother - who's only just been discharged from the hospital, where he'd been due to a suicide attempt - also joins the family. All these characters go along to California, to the beauty pageant. Oh I do not want to spoil the whole plot. Only so much: the end is one of the best, after Fight Club. Pure anarchy! The film is an ode to love, tolerance and all eccentrics of this world. We need more of it! Thus, watch it and enjoy!
