Kitsch-as-Kitsch-can

 Pocket Mirror

Even though I have a thing for flower patterns, cake-stands, vintage chic and all the other things that belong to that granny style, it does sometimes give me the creeps. Where does this global want off young women for all things cute, pretty and old-fashioned come from? What are we trying to compensate with it? Because, I have my strong doubts that it's all just a fashion trend. What seems to manifest itself with it is rather a deep longing for authenticity and for the so-called "good old times". You can find an interesting, though rather critical article on that topic by one of my favourite journalists in today's "Tages Anzeiger". As a little addition, here's one or two exhibits by the super-kitsch provider Bertine. Have a nice day.

Again a tote bag
